Sweet Serendipity: Kim & Andy

So check this out.

Last Saturday (crisp air, peak foliage, slightly overcast) I had a family shoot in Newcastle, NH on Great Island Common. A past wedding couple who now have a baby girl. Fall family photos. All good. Arriving early, I scouted the area looking for interesting light and backdrops. While prepping my gear, a young couple pulled up in the parking lot next to me. Cooly dressed with La Vie Boheme flair, she with dried wildflowers, he with complementary boutonnière, it became clear that they had arrived to be married. As a wedding photographer, I immediately took a keen interest in the couple. Allowing them time to unpack, I introduced myself to them, and asked if they were getting married. Indeed they were. Andy and Kim had traveled up from Rhode Island for the express purpose of becoming husband and wife; a modest, yet heartfelt seaside ceremony with a handful of friends looking on was their goal. I told them I happened to be a wedding photographer and that I would be more than happy to capture a few portraits of them once I was through with my family shoot.

They say that serendipity is the notion of finding something good without looking for it. Sometimes it’s just a matter of having your eyes open I believe.

Kim & Andy - it was a pleasure to have met you. We may have only spent ten minutes with one another, but I sincerely hope that these images will one day bring you back to the love you felt for one another on this special day. Congratulations and may you have a lifetime of love and happiness.

peace.
